I am Joelle. I am just as you see me. I have a life filled with joy and family and friends. God has been so good to me, and I give Him the credit for the joy in my life.
Why “picking daisies”?? If you came upon a field of daisies and decided to pick some, your cares wash away. As you wander through the flowers, you don’t think about your worries or stresses. The only thing on your mind is gather the flowers at hand. So, I’m picking daisies to unwind and destress; and to gather a handfull of God’s beauty.
I recently read a blog, where the blogger interviewed herself. So, here goes:
Q: Where did you grow up?
I was born in South Dakota, but I have lived in St Paul, Minnesota; Cumberland, Wisconsin; White Bear Lake, Mn; Fairmont, Mn; and Brainerd/Baxter, Mn. I consider the Brainerd area as my hometown.
Q: Why did you move so much?
We were part of the Federal witness protection program, and had to move to stay ahead of the people my parents helped to put in prision….. If you don’t believe that, the real reason was that my dad worked for 3M and was transferred to the different plants, then after he graduated from night school, he was hired by a law firm in Fairmont. After “cutting his teeth” there, an opening in the county attorney’s office in Brainerd appealed to him so we moved to Brainerd, and I found my “hometown”.
Q: So you attended Brainerd High School, graduated and married your high school sweet heart.
Sort of. I did graduate from BHS, but I wouldn’t consider Al my “high school sweetheart”. I met Al a few times throughout my high school years. We didn’t start dating until Al was already graduated, and I was half-way thru my senior year. It is funny how many times our paths crossed, but God had his timing for us to meet. Al’s dad even suggested he go out with “Bob’s daughter” when he was a sophomore in high school! But for Al, it was not an option at the time.
Q: You seem to be a bit of a paradox.
Yeah, I know. I like some girly things, like cooking, sewing and crafts. I like pink and flowers…. and don’t forget the fingernails! But on the other hand, I like cars, racing and being at the track. I can usually relate to guys more than gals. Shopping is not a hobby. I like to watch action movies (and chick flicks).
